General Information

ARLANDA AIRPORT
Most international flights use Arlanda Airport, 40 km north of Stockholm. Take either
Flygbussarna (45 min) or Arlanda express (20 min) in both cases you arrive at Stockholm
Central Station. In case you take a taxi, make sure to ask for the price prior to the
ride. A reasonable price should be 450-500 SEK. In the first place we recommend the
following taxi companies: Taxi Stockholm, Taxi Kurir and Taxi 020.


BADGES & BAGS
The participant's name badge will be provided at the Registration Desk. All participants
are required to wear the badge throughout the congress. Only badge holders will be
admitted to all activities including the City Hall. Badges will be at your disposal from
Sunday 17 June 08.00.


BUSINESS HOURS & SHOPPING
Shops are open between 10.00 and 18.00 hrs on weekdays and from 10.00 to 15.00
hrs on Saturdays. Shops in the City centre have extended opening hours, some even
on Sundays between 12.00 and 16.00 hrs. The main shopping streets in the centre of
Stockholm are: Hamngatan, Biblioteksgatan, Drottninggatan, Kungsgatan and Västerlånggatan in the Old Town.


CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE
A certificate of attendance will be issued in electronic format after the congress. Every
participant will receive a personal link from which the certificate of attendance can be
downloaded in pdf-format.


CHAIRPERSONS AND SPEAKERS
Chairpersons and speakers should be in their session room 20 minutes before the beginning
of the session. The chairpersons are responsible for running the session and the
speakers are requested to keep to the time schedule.
Speakers cannot use their own computer or LCDs. They should bring their presentation
on a FAT-formatted USB-stick, which shall be downloaded on the computer provided in
the room of the session before the beginning of the session. It is recommended to have
a backup copy at hand. Speaker should adhere to the following guidelines:
PowerPoint version 97, 98, 2000, 2001, 2007, 2010.
Pictures must be in the following formats: .jpg, .gif, .tif or .bmp.
Video files must be attached to your powerpoint presentation they must be in one of
the following formats: .mpg, .mpeg, .avi or .DIVX. The format .mov (Quicktime) is NOT
accepted. If you have such files, please export them in .avi format. The new compressed
format DIVX6 and above cannot be accepted. Do not forget when saving your final
presentation to include your video files if any and to check all links to all your multimedia
files.
Use usual PC-fonts for your PowerPoint presentation such as Arial, Times Roman and
Verdana (preferably) and the Wingdings collection for special characters and other
signs.
The presentation files should be named as such: The session code – family name for
example: S5 – Svensson.ppt.
You will be assisted by a person who will help you to download your presentation into
the computer.
We urge you to visit the preview room, room 23, level 2, before your session to verify
that your presentation works correctly.

CHILDREN
For safety reasons, children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the exhibition hall
or poster zones as well as in congress rooms.


CLIMATE & CLOTHING
The climate in Stockholm is extremely varied and every season has its particular charm.
Average temperature in June varies between +11C and +21C.


CHECK IN/CHECK OUT
Hotel check-in time is 15.00 hrs or later. Check-out time is usually 12.00.

 

CLOAK & LUGGAGE ROOM
A manned cloak & luggage room will be set up on Wednesday to facilitate the delegates
departures.

 

COFFEE BREAKS
Coffee and tea will be served during coffee breaks Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday.


CREDIT CARDS
Commonly accepted credit cards in hotels, restaurants and shops are American Express,
Diners Club, Visa, Master Card and Euro Card. Restaurants and shops generally
display signs indicating what cards they accept. The Registration Desk accepts all these
cards.


CURRENCY
The currency in Sweden is the Swedish Krona, SEK. A currency calculator can be found
online at www.x-rates.com/calculator.html
Banks are generally open weekdays from 10.00-15.00.
The nearest cash dispenser is located at the Central Station.
Currencies can be exchanged at the Central Station (Forex), Arlanda Airport, major
banks and most large hotels.

The electricity in Sweden runs on 220 volts. The frequency is 50 Hz and the plugs have
two male contact pins.

Except for the CEC-courses there will be no handouts of the scientific sessions. Participants
are requested to get in personal contact with the speakers respectively.

INFORMATION ABOUT UPCOMING MEETINGS
Information presenting future meetings of interest to the congress participants is displayed
at the information board in the exhibition area.


INFORMATIVE SESSIONS
Informative sessions outside the scientific programme are held by sponsors and other
parties between 13.00-15.00 on Monday and Tuesday. Location and time for these sessions
are announced on the information screens and on the web site
www.eurotox2012.org as well as at the Information Desk.

INSURANCE & LIABILITY
Neither the Congress Organisers nor the Congress Secretariat accept any liability for
personal injuries sustained, or for loss or damage to property belonging to congress
participants, either during or as a result of the congress.


INTERNET
Free access to internet (wifi) is provided throughout the Congress Centre.
Connect to SSID Waterfront (Congress) or Radisson_Guest (Hotel)
Open internet browser. When entering any URL you are automatically redirected to the
login portal.
• Click on Meeting Delegate and accept the End User Agreement.
• The next page lets you select your meeting
• Enter your congress code 'Eurotox' and click Connect
• Now you have internet access.


LANGUAGE
The official language of the congress is English. There will be no simultaneous translation.

 

LOST AND FOUND
For lost and found items, please contact the congress Information Desk.


LUNCHES
On Sunday, lunch will be available for CEC course participants. Monday, 18 June and
Tuesday, 19 June, light lunch boxes will be freely available in the exhibition area during
the lunch breaks.
A wide range of restaurants is also available within and all around the Waterfront Congress
Centre.


MESSAGES
Messages can be left and collected on the message board situated at the Information
Desk.


MOBILE PHONES AND SURF PADS
Use your mobile phones and surf pads responsibly. We recommend that you put them
in quiet mode during sessions and in the poster areas.


POSTER AREAS
Poster areas are located in the exhibition area floor 4 and 5. Poster set up time 08.00-
09.00. Each poster will be displayed for one day only. The presenting author (or one
of the co-authors) is asked to stand by their posters 14.00-16.00 to answer questions
from viewers.
Authors must dismantle their posters before 18.00 on the day of the poster session.
Posters remaining after 18.00 will be destroyed.

Pre-registered delegates pick up their badges and handlings at the Registration Desk
during opening hours.
On-site registrations will be accepted, however availability of accommodation and
participation in the social tours/events at that time may be severely limited. Consult the
Registration Desk for registration and payment. The Registration Desk accepts all common
credit cards, see under CREDIT CARDS.


SMOKING POLICY
The congress venue and the evening venues are all non smoking. Smoking is banned in
public places in Stockholm, on public transport, in stores, restaurants and most pubs.
Hotels offer special rooms for smokers. Please indicate your request on the registration
form, when you make your hotel reservation.


TIME ZONE
Sweden is 1 hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).


TIPPING
Tipping is at your discretion in taxis and restaurants.
